Vo vzťažných vetách sú často predložky, a podmetom týchto predložiek je často vzťažné zámeno. V každodennej angličtine je predložka normálne umiestnená na konci vzťažnej vety a zámeno môže byť tiež zahrnuté alebo vynechané. Vo formálnej angličtine je predložka umiestnená pred vzťažným zámenom a v takomto prípade nemožno zámeno vynechať. V príkladoch nižšie možno zámená v okrúhlych zátvorkách vynechať.
